As a woman of color who transitioned from journalism into public relations, I understand and have navigated challenges while entering and advancing within the industry.

Employers understood the value of my journalism background and insider knowledge, but without industry experience, they didn’t know how to place me within their staffing structure.


Fast forward to my 10+ years as a PR practitioner, I entered a world that operates according to the adage: "it's not what you know but who you know." 

I am combining these learnings and experiences with my involvement in diversity and inclusion initiatives to create a path for increasing diversity within communications and advertising.
