At a time when we have little to no control over the impact of COVID-19, the Colorful Connections team met (virtually) to discuss what we can do.
What came from that discussion is a pivot from the norm. We are all living in uncertain and challenging times. It’s not business as usual. And the most important thing is to make it to the other side of this crisis.
That means supporting each other where we can, and just doing the right thing. For the CC team, that entails helping people get jobs.
Colorful Connections typically matches employers with professionals. And since our set-up allows us to handle contingent staffing, we figured we’ll start there.
So, this is the plan: Colorful Connections is matching people in-need of jobs with high-demand, trainable roles (ie, healthcare support positions, cleaners, grocery retail, etc.) And we’re donating 100% of profits to United Way COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund.
We won’t have our typical diversity-lens approach when sourcing professionals for these roles. We’re just trying to help as many people as possible. Regarding location, we’re primarily focusing on the southeast Wisconsin and greater Chicagoland-areas. Colorful Connections will continue typical services and work, too – to the extent employers need that help.
If you’re reading this and want to help, you can do so by spreading the word to job seekers and high-demand employers looking for talent. And if interested, contact David Brady from our recruiting team at David@ColorfulConnections.com.
On behalf of the team, thank you all. Be safe. And count blessings.
